The Happy Czech Republic Foundation (Friends of Bhutan Society: Czech Republic and the Czech GNH Initiative) is the foremost organization developing the concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) in the Czech Republic. It was a real honour and a great pleasure for us to present our findings at the 7th International Conference on Gross National Happiness: GNH of Business. The international conference took place between 7th and 9th November 2017 in Thimphu, Bhutan, and was organised by the Centre for Bhutan Studies & Gross National Happiness (CBS & GNH).
Our society was represented by MA MSc Lilia Khousnoutdinova, who revealed the initial findings from the very first, recently conducted sociological study on GNH in the Czech Republic, performed in collaboration with the STEM Institute based in Prague. We were particularly excited about presenting these initial results, as (to our knowledge) this is the first GNH based study of this kind in Eastern Europe. We hope that together with other findings, the implications of our study may aid to expand application of the GNH model outside of Bhutan, the place of its origin.
Further findings and conclusions from the GNH study carried out in the Czech Republic will be shared through our Friends of Bhutan Society and the Czech GNH Initiative in the near future. In the meantime, you can watch Lilia’s conference talk entitled ‘The First GNH Study in the Czech Republic and its Implications in Business’ below (in English) or by following this link.
We would like to thank the conference organisers for a truly enriching experience and for the opportunity to present our work to an international audience!
